A thoughtful reply shows that you noticed a customer's feedback. It does not need to read like an advert or repeat your service and town names in every sentence.
Keep it personal but privacy-conscious
Thank the customer, mention a general detail they raised if appropriate, and close politely. For example: “Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I’m glad the new bathroom is working well for you, and I appreciate you choosing us.”
Do not confirm a home address, access arrangement, schedule, security feature or other private detail in public. If the review is vague, a simple thank-you is enough. Never offer a reward in exchange for a positive review or pressure customers to change an honest opinion.
Use a consistent, sustainable routine
Check for new reviews periodically and respond in a reasonable timeframe. Make sure the reply comes from the business or an authorised representative. If a review raises a concern, take the conversation offline without arguing publicly, and address the issue through your usual customer-care process.
Google's guidance on replying to reviews covers review management. Our guide to asking for reviews after a trade job explains how to request honest feedback without incentives.
