An areas-covered page should help a customer work out whether you take jobs near them. It should not be a long list of place names added only to attract search traffic.
Describe the area honestly
Name your main town or base and the nearby places where you regularly accept work. If travel distance, parking, call-out availability or job size affects where you go, explain that plainly. Keep the list manageable and update it if your working area changes.
Do not promise same-day visits or nationwide coverage unless you can deliver it. An accurate page may reduce unsuitable enquiries and save time on the phone.
Add information that is genuinely local
If a separate page for a town is useful, make it distinct: include relevant completed work with permission, the services you offer there, or local access details that customers need to know. Do not copy one page and change only the place name. One clear areas page is often better than a collection of thin pages.
Give customers a way to check coverage before they send a full enquiry. A short postcode question or an invitation to call can set expectations without collecting unnecessary personal information.
Your website and Google Business Profile should describe compatible service areas. For profile rules, see Google Business Profile service areas for tradesmen and our local SEO guide.
Google's SEO Starter Guide recommends useful, descriptive content. Google also explains how to represent service-area businesses.
